Jeff Krentzman is the Founder of The BBQ Cleaner LLC business opportunity. Jeff Krentzman attended Boston University and graduated in 2002. All throughout college he knew he wanted to own his own business. In 2005, through an international franchise magazine, Krentzman became aware of a business called OVENU being offered all over Europe and thought he would bring the concept successfully to the United States. What type of experience is needed to run a BBQ business? What do your current cleaners enjoy about The BBQ Cleaner?
When you look across the board at all the people who now run this business, there really isn’t a common thing they have all done. We have people from all different backgrounds who run this business and run it well. No prior experience is necessary since we coach and walk our operators through every aspect of the business. Our current operators often say to us that they enjoy being their own boss, controlling their own schedules, working from home, and the ability to control their own financial destiny. They also love not having to work for someone else.
What kind of training is involved for people interested in The BBQ Cleaner business opportunity?
Our training program is awesome. We have had tremendous feedback. The BBQ Cleaner sits down one-on-one with each operator and walks them through each aspect of the business so they are equipped for success. They also receive ongoing support as a tool if needed.
How long does it take to get up and running with BBQ Cleaner from start to finish?
Very quick. We understand that operators want to get up and running sooner rather than later and start bringing in revenue. Generally, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks from start until the doors open.

We are in a market almost all to ourselves. Did you ever envision The BBQ Cleaner would become as big as it has across the country?
When The BBQ Cleaner started offering this opportunity to people in other markets in 2009, I had already been doing this for the previous 3 years in New Jersey. Knowing how fast it took off and correctly identifying the things we did to make it happen so successfully, I knew if we passed that knowledge on to others they would have a heck of a chance to replicate our success, and they’ve done just that.
When The BBQ Cleaner’s Authorized Technicians speak about you, they have such a spirited, positive response. Why do you think that is?
This to me is a tremendous compliment. We pride ourselves on making every effort imaginable for our operators to make sure they succeed. Not only has this had a profound impact on the lives of our operators, but also on thousands and thousands of people that now use our service regularly throughout the nation. When people speak highly of us – we make a difference.
Can you tell us a little about your family?
My wife, Jessica, and I have been married for 9 years. We have a 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Jess has been very critical to the success of The BBQ Cleaner. She is extremely supportive in every aspect. If I tell her I need to travel out somewhere for a few days to another opening, she never complains. If I tell her I need to work a Saturday or Sunday because the schedule is jammed with an overflow of cleanings at the moment, she never has a problem. Without Jess’s support, The BBQ Cleaner wouldn’t be where it is today.
Away from work, what is your ideal weekend like?
My weekends are sometimes crazier than the week. With my 2 kids’ activities during the weekend, it is chaotic. My wife & I run off our kids schedules. It is extremely fulfilling, yet exhausting. The best times are when all 4 of us are together.
What the biggest challenge you deal with outside of work?
Without a doubt, it is finding proper life balance. I try to be involved with my kids during the day with school and after school as much as a can. I am class parent for my daughter’s Kindergarten class as well as a volunteer in the PTA lunch room. At the same time, I have a business to run that is growing by the day which that needs a good amount of devotion as well. Finding the perfect balance between the two is an on-going challenge that really changes by the day. I like to think I do a pretty good job of finding that balance, but it really is an on-going challenge I deal with.
Is there a quote or saying you believe in?
Oddly enough, my high school quote from my senior year was something I came up at the time, “If you don’t believe in yourself, you don’t believe in anything.” There are many parallels between the quote and the operators nationwide of The BBQ Cleaner. If our business owners don’t believe in themselves, they are limiting their own success. If you believe in yourself, like the BBQ operators, and you put your mind to it and believe -- you can succeed! Just look at all the success stories around the country of our operators.
